Difficult stain

Options
Has anyone ever shifted a stain based on oil and paprika? It's on a new heavy pale blue linen shirt (bless him!).

I've searched under stain removal.

I've used Vanish and another oxy-spray, bio washing powder, and Stardrops both diluted and neat. I've managed to fade it, so it's a paler orange stain, but the shirt is still pretty much unwearable.

It has sort of splattered, so I could aim just at the stain with something on a cotton bud, but don't want to end up taking the colour out of the fabric.

May not do much good but if the shirt's had it worth trying:

paste of salt/lemon juice applied direct to stain.

or soak in strongish solution washing soda

or try laundry bleach eg ace liquid applied neat or what I prefer ecover powder (have used this applied to wetted stain direct with some very good results, although not your EXACT stain)

never tried it but have heard good results with borax.

With any of them really thorough rinsing will be required, because of the concentration Good luck!

Thank you....my thanks button isn't working. I'll start with salt and lemon juice.

I wonder whether the 70's orange/beige/brown swirly carpet pattern is available as fabric? I could dress him in that. He's late middle-aged, by the way, not 2.

Cooking oil and spices? I would try rubbing in a little washing up liquid and putting through the wash again.

If he did it cooking, maybe he could wear a pinny in future!
