What to do about a bank account...

Hi guys
Quick question. I'm saving VERY hard for my fees (nearly there, another week!).
Three of the creditors in my BR are going to be Barclays (2 current accounts & loan), who I hate with a passion!
The current account that I use now is a Co-op cashminder, I love the co-op.
What should i do about having a parachute account for after BR?
Open another one with co-op or will the evil Barclays let me go to them? (which I really don't want to do!)
Any suggestions/help welcome.

We already had our Co op account for a few months before going BR and when we went into the Branch to tell them on the Day of BR, they said that they didn't have any problem with us carrying on running with our account (which isn't even a Cashminder one) as we had been in credit and running it within parameters - so if you have been running your account ok then they won't even ask you to open a new one you will just be able to continue as you are, just tell the OR that that is the account you use for day to day living.

Does anyone know whether Barclays will still allow you to open a new account if you have owed them money on an overdraft included in BR?
Thanks0 -

That is something I was wondering.philnicandamy wrote: »Barclays were one of my largest creditors once bankrupt they offered me a basic account & many more here no hassle
I must confess I want to avoid Barclays like the plague if I possibly can. As well as being my biggest creditor, I used to work for them. I know them inside out & I want to avoid them if I can.LBM:FEB 2008

It's not a nice dilemma to have RM, but you seemed to answer your question.
I'd go with the coop cashminder account. At least you can use their online service and have nothing to do with barclays!
Hope this helps
