How do I write a book?

Options
Hi

Sorry - not sure if this is in the right place.

I have an idea for a book. Its a kind of "whistle-blowing" book with "fictional" characters!!

I have no idea about how to go about this - ie writing it.

Any suggestions, tips? Could I have a writer - if I pen out the story?

The first thing to do is write down everything you can about the book. Write down every though/idea you have so you don't forget it later.

Next I would start to put things in order, what happens first, what happens second, what happens third etc.

Once you have that done you can start writing each section.

Yes, they are called ghost writers. Most "celebrities" use them when they have been famous for 5 minutes and want to write their autobiography. They just tell the "story" to the ghost writer, who makes notes/recordings then goes off and turns it into a book.

Traditionally, you need to work out 3 'acts' as well.

the '3-act-structure', as it's known, usually works out like this.
    1. Setup (of the location and characters)
    2. Confrontation (with an obstacle)
    3. Resolution (culminating in a climax and a d!nouement).

"d!nouement" basically means to explain the complexities of what happened before - the 'big reveal' in a way.

You can quite easily employ a ghost writer, if you can afford to do so.

You could have a ghost writer but you would feel more fulfilled in the end if you get to accomplish the book by yourself. The climax, anyway, is also an important element of a story. You could also add exciting twists to it to make it more interesting. Good luck on your book. :)

Its very easy to self publish these days aswell, for a small but very reasonable fee if you look about.
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.
