To me there is way too much in compensation claims going on when the NHS don,t deliver 100%.
Pregnancy and child birth have always had risks. Your ex OH has now to live with the fact she cannot ever have more children . That is really hard for any woman to deal with , but it does happen. Ask any woman who cannot conceive.
As for you?
You can still have children, you are in the position that many couples face with multiple miscarrages but you are no longer with your partner.
I would suggest you concentrate on your ex partners wellfare at this moment not your own..

Glad to see that in order to correct how the NHS wronged you, you are happy to take the NHS for millions directly causing the deaths of many patients who the NHS will no longer have the resources to treat effectively.

I have working knowledge of NHS litigation and it would be highly unlikely that settlements that large would be offered, I have heard of a family receiving around half a million when the mother died following childbirth.
A claim has to be made within 2 or 3 years (unless the claimant is a child) but can take years to be resolved. Unless you actually work in this field please stop making sweeping statements like 'people end up suing the NHS because they don't get their complaints answered' - as we all know there are two sides to every story but the people who investigate and reply to complaints really do care and work damn hard in a stressful environment.

Neither do nuclear weapons or bonuses for bank workers. Any problems with the NHS aren't the fault of the poor people who have been wronged by them and compensated.

I'm a huge believer in the NHS but I don't believe we should all just be blindly grateful for it to the point that it doesn't have to account for its mistakes.

you are quite right - they usually come from fundraising by friends of the hospital.

and before you say it - I accept that a portion of my contributions to the NHS will go to pay compensation. if a person has been wronged it is right that they are compensated.
actually, I prefer that to paying for yet another jumped up administrator who does nothing more than shuffle paper.

How can you be 'wronged' by the NHS. It's a free at the point of use service that you are under no obligation to use. If you don't like it go elsewhere. It would suit me just fine if the NHS was disbanded and everybody had to pay their way then these people would have something to actually complain about.

Anyway to be honest I suspect this is probably a wind up so I'm not going to worry about it too much.

i am sorry for your loss, i have lost 2 children myself and it is a very difficult thing to go through, SANDS (stillborn and neonatal death society) is a charity that offers support to families that have lost children in pregnancy or soon after.
