Re: Phone call to my Husband last night from MBNA!
I declared sole BR on 26th Feb 09. Everything was going fine and the OR didn’t even want to interview me at present. That I know could change.
My Husband and I have all our finances separate apart from one (could be fatal thing) I overlooked. To be honest I completely forgot about. Although I had all my cards in my name only I had my Husband as a ADDITIONAL CARDHOLDER! Have I just screwed him? It would be fatal for his work if I have as he’s a Company Director. I’m really scared I have just completely messed up his Life. I totally forgot about it because although he has his own card on my account he has NEVER used it and never signed an agreement with them.
Last night (I don’t answer my phone) MBNA called his phone spoke to him about a card he obviously didn’t recognise and then asked for me. How bloody dare they, I am fuming! Are they really allowed to do this?
Surely my Husband is not liable for my debts in this way?
Please help and reply soon I am going out of my mind with worry. My Husband is obviously a bit worried too.
Please help

If he is only an additional cardholder then you are fine, I had my wife on a couple of mine as an additional card holder, but when we both went BR we never included any of these debts on her petition, because I was the one who had signed for the original account. I don`t understand why they are trying to contact him if the debt is in your name. By the way MBNA were by far the worst of my creditors and up to last week I was still getting letters from them.:pB&SC No. 298

Thanks for the reply Dojoman. He thought it was a bit strange MBNA calling him. He has his own CC with them but he has no problems with them, that is his card he has an agreement for. My card, I just thought it would be useful to have him as an additional cardholder but he never used it so they are just my debts.
Can I say that I think it's apalling that they call my additional cardholder Mr's number and then ask to speak to Mrs/me  I said to Hubby I think they are just trying to pull a fast one as I'm not answering there many calls a day.
It's been three weeks since my BR. I would have thought the OR would have contacted them by now?0 -
Thanks dojo!0

I actually received a letter from them last week, over 3 months in to my BR, that is after I had already contacted them with my BRO details, below is the link to thread I started about them last week. Try and not let them get to you, but they are a pain in proverbial.

Hi underfire, i would like to add that even if your husband had used this card you would still be the only one responsible because he only has it with your permission, even if he had run up all the debt on it, its still your account and only your account.
Good luck nailing MBNA to the wall, next time tell them to stick it!!!!![STRIKE]Shazbo[/STRIKE]
