Prolectrix usb turntable in Asda, - any good?

O/H has seen this in asda.
Very little detail on box and wondered if any good, still loads of vinyl lurking in cupboards.

I have read about one or two problems, but as I'm a bit of a technophobe:embarasse would appreciate any useful advice, thanks

I've not used a USB turntable but I did transfer all my vinyl to CD & hard dissk last year using my existing turntable. There was a thread somewhere on MSE which I found helpful - might have been in the Techie forum.
  • As previous poster said, comparitively easy and cheaper to do if you already have a turntable. Personally I'd be wary about the quality of reproduction from a USB turntable, but I'm the sort of person who knows that mp3 is a degraded format, missing high end treble and bass. reproduction
  • I have brought said usb turntable ;it comes with audacity software which takes a bit of work to get going as it does not follow the printed instructions .Quick impressions are good for the money but there seems to be some hum in the background. Will have to play around with it more.
