wrong address on mortgage

We have just found out that the address held by the mortgage company on our buy to let house is wrong.If we were to default on this mortage what could they do?thx

Suspect this is true - I think if it went to reposession, and they could prove intent (ie it's a genuine human error, and you did intend to take out a mortgage on the btl property), the court would most likely find in the bank's favour.

Have you checked the district land registry official copies? The charge SHOULD be registered against the correct property.

If not:

a) If your mortgage was for the purchase of the property, the solicitor would be at fault as they register the charge.

b) If you already owned the property and just remortgaged to your current lender, the district land registry would only have been able to register the charge if your name was already showing on the proprietorship register.

So either way, it would be clear that an error had been made.

What do you think?...say sorry forget it we recorded the wrong address...rolls eyes.........
