YAY! and a Question..

After this long process I received a letter last week saying that I had been awarded my BR on 3rd of March, today another letter came saying hubby had been awarded his on 12th March. That is great as it means we can start afresh but we've been appointed trustees from different companies. I received a letter asking me to call ASAP to arrange a phone interview, which I have and it's all set for tomorrow. Hubby received a letter stating that he will hear nothing for another 6 months and then they'll be in touch for a review. I was just wondering why we were being dealt with so differently?

I only have CTC and CB coming in, whereas hubby has a wage could it be something to do with that? But if that were the case then I would have thought they would have contacted him first to see about getting an IPA?

I'm all confused and getting a bit worried that mine may not be going very smoothly.

TIA

    Hiya TDMum

Glad to hear that it's finally all gone through for you both! :T

Can you give us a little bit more info though. Did you or your OH nominate your own Trustee, or is the Accountant in Bankruptcy Trustee for both of you?

If AiB is your trustee, but you've each been allocated to a different agent, then it might be worth your while giving them a ring and asking (innocently) if there's any possibility you could both deal with the same agent.

Apart from anything else, it would surely be easier for them as well as for you?!

He's being dealt with by the AIB but I've been assigned someone from an insolvency practice in Glasgow. I was granted on the 3rd but because I'd left a piece of paper out of hubbys application with 1 previous address on it his was delayed to the 12th. I'm wondering if this is maybe why?

I have my phone interview today, do you think it's worth asking the insolvency pratice why we're being dealt with separatley? I'm actually really quite scared now. All of the bad advice we were given through the trust deed falls into my name, such as using catalogues after signing etc, I'm terrified of what they're going to think of me :(
  • Hi TDMum

Sorry I can't help as I know even less about the Scottish system than I do about the English one. Just wanted to tell you that my hubby and I went BR on the same day in the same court and got assigned to different OR offices, and so far our experiences have been quite different too where I've been required to provide all sorts of information and he's hardly been contacted at all.

    best wishes with it all

Well it turns out we have been appointed the same insolvency practice, I asked when I had my telephone interview today and they were just waiting on the paperwork coming through for my hubby before sending him out a letter to ask him to call. Seeing as I was on the phone they arranged to call him this afternoon so we can get it over and done with. phew!

    Thanks guys!
