hi there, i was looking for some advice for a friend of mine. she is thinking of entering a trust deed but i dont know much about them.
her main creditor is lloyds and she has tried to open a basic account away from them but every bank she approaches tell her they can open the account but if she enters a trust deed, they will close it.
they have said the only one that might not is co-operative bank, which theres none near us. is this correct,
can anyone give me any more advice i can relay to her? thanks

Co-op CashMinder and Barclays CashCard, are the most basic of basic accounts, available to everyone even those made bankrupt.
Just remember when applying for a bank account, ask for a basic account with no credit, so there is no credit checks. Most banks credit check you anyway to see which account they can earn their most sales commission on.
Info on trust deeds is best coming from someone in the know, they are for scotland so give national debtline a call, they have information on scottish debt law.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Hi there  I'm on a trust deed and I'm with the Co-op bank.
You don't need to have a branch of the Co-op on your doorstep as you can do things like withdrawing money and paying in money/cheques etc through your Post Office so in as long as you have a Post Office near you, you shd be fine! Just send in your id/documents recorded through the post to them if they need to see them
Hope that helps (incidentally Co-op bank have been brilliant for me, would genuinely recommend them!)
