don't know if it's just me thats rubbish at organising my money or what but since been on the DMP with CCCS i always seem to be completly skint, or maybe it's just taking some getting used to as before if we were short of cash we'd just shop on the CC!!!!! Anybody else feel the same or any tips for orgaising my finaces would be great.

well if you can post up your SOA (your DMP SOA) up here we can try and spot some areas which might be able to help save a bit without making any more drastic changes

i am not personally on a DMP but i do know how you feel about being skint, i have a total of wait for it ......27p to last me until tomorrow when the tax credits come in woohoo
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

    Yes, totally skint.

Got £1.20 to get me through to midnight tonight when my pay goes in (I hope it’s midnight). Thing being, that’s the only money that I’ve had since Monday!

The good news is though is that in the past I would have money by getting further into debt. Now I’ve got money and am slowly getting out of debt – I think/hope. I can see the light (well, a dim glow at the end of a looooong thin tunnel).

    How long’s your DMP for?

    Hi

The key thing to do is B U D G E T. !! and more importantly stick to it.

We have been on our DMP for just over 2 years and I also found it, not hard, but different.! We had relied on cc to get us through the month when things got tight and then all of a sudden, we didn't have those to rely on. We put money away each month for absolutely everything, and we stick to our budget. We also put a small amount away each month for our emergency fund.

I'm not saying its easy, 'cos its definitely not, but its necessary for us to get through this DMP. We still have another 23 months to go, and we started with £74k.

If you are absolutely sure that you cannot manage, perhaps you should speak to CCCS and perhaps they can adjust your payments, although it will make your debt free date further away. Check out the Old Style boards, they usually have good money saving ideas on there.

    Good luck

Now that's the bit that I really struggle with!

It's getting there - just slowly.
