um...I think the OP is suggesting that you check what the prize is online (free of charge) and then ONLY if you have a decent prize do you bother ringing their rip off premium rate line...?

Yes, exactly! Trying to save people some money but not having to call!

To make things easier, I've just posted the info on here.
Hope it doesn't breach any board rules!!!

The information below is an exact copy of the information you would receive if you called or texted the numbers on the ticket, meaning a saving of £9 for you!
If you have a prize that is worth claiming, you *will* need to ring the claim line to get a claim number.

It would be great to see what people have won if you can just post to this thread with your prize. Thanks!

Have you popped up a Golden Ticket?

    No problem.
If you've won something worthwhile you will need to phone to get a claim code ... but you don't need to ring to find out you've won something relatively worthless.

You'll notice on the list above that the watch has an extra delivery charge.
I reckon that most people (98%) will have won the watch, so you will end up paying around £21 for an Oskar Emil watch.
These watches are quite nice (I have two) but you can pick them up easily on Ebay for around the same price (or certainly could a few months ago) and at least then you would know which watch you were getting.
Oskar Emil only sell wholesale and even though their watches have an RRP of £200+, they are around £25 each in a pack.

I'm thinking of making a web site where you enter your e-mail address and every time I get a "Golden Ticket" or another item like that in a magazine, I ring up and get all the codes then e-mail them out.
Would anyone be interested in this, it'd be free obviously!

If just one person gets a prize that's worth claiming, which they would have thrown away otherwise, it's got to be worth it!

If you have a password starting with R, T or A, we need to check your ticket and validate your claim.

so what do passwords starting with R T or A get you?

No idea, but something worth claiming I'd think!

If you ring their office number (08700 500 755), national call rate I think, they will be able to tell you. If they start asking about claim numbers it might be worth getting cut off by accident, ringing their £9 line to get a number, then ringing back.

The £9 line or text messages will just tell you the same as what I posted about though.

Mmm, I've 'won' a watch. (£12.87) delivery charge

I've done loads of competitions every day for years (won loads and some brilliant stuff), but I have never had to pay to get my prize!

I can understand there being a charge to enter the competition, but I must admit, the extra cost for the delivery makes me feel that the only real winners at the end of the day are a very few select people and the company themselves.

ajnt81, well done for the post, I probably wouldn't have 'phoned, but to be able to check my ticket anyway for free was brilliant! :T

Wouldn't it be great if someone checks their ticket which they may have otherwise thrown away, and finds they've won one of the 'big' prizes!

    Good luck everyone!

And what are the chances that the 2% of people who win the decent prizes will actually look at their tickets and ring up!

    That would be excellent.
I'm going to try and keep posting these things in the hope that someone does
