title not transferred for garage on remortgage

i have a house with a garage, the house is freehold the garage is leasehold with a 999 year lease/no service charge.
remortgaged about 5 years ago and have just come round to selling the house, the solicitor rang today and said when the remortgage was done the title for the house was transferred to new mortgage company but the garage wasnt so the title for the garage is under the old mortgage company still. ive phoned the solicitors who dealed with the new mortgage and they are looking into it but im just wondering what needs to be done and how long its likely to hold up the sale of my house going through ?
