The trick is thinking of a domain name that is not already taken.
clutchbags.me.uk is available, as are several other clutchbags domains. But you'll probably find that any domain involving the word "bags" has already been taken, or the available ones are the more expensive ones.0 -

Found this though, very interesting how the big comapanies came to choosing their names.

Hey, thanks for the input and ideas
The bags i am selling are beaded, crystal stones etc. Bags that people can wear to balls, partys, evening wear. So am looking for like an elegant sort of domain name. I thought about elegantbags but thats taken.
Or sensations.co.uk, devinecollection.co.uk
After becoming established am hoping to move onto jewellery and bring that to a website so am not sure if it should have bag in the domain name
Thanks0 -
To be honest the domain name doesn't matter all that much.
There was a time when a good domain name was everything, but those days are gone. Most people will visit your site via a link in a search engine, or a link from another site. it won't matter to them what the domain name is. The chances are that they aren't even old enough to remember the days when you had to type the domain name in to get to a site. And typing in a domain name is something they have never done.
It would be nice if you could get a good domain name, and build a brand name so big people will search for it, like "ebay", "BBC", "The Times" etc. but to be honest this is unlikely.
So concentrate on keywords that people will search for and include them in your web site. Also choose a good Title for your site. People will not remember the URL for your site, but they probably will remember a good title. and next time they want to visit your site they will search for the title.
Try searching for "online news" and see how many sites have either, or both words in the domain name.
Or more relevant, try searching for "bags" and see how many sites come up with the word "bag" in the domain name.0 -
