Can't change gas/electricity supplier!!

I'm having trouble with my current gas/electricity supplier in that they are constantly getting my bills wrong, constantly messing up my direct debits and constantly offering really poor customer service. Most people would say "so change to another supplier then!". I am trying but seems that I am stuck with them as I am an undischarged BR & when I tried to change suppliers I apparently failed a credit check so they wouldn't take me on.

My question... has anyone else experienced this? and does anyone know if there are any companies supplying in the south west that will take me? I am loathe to continue with my current supplier although I am nearing the conclusion that I may not have a choice :(

Thanks
K

We changed from Atlantic to Eon with no problems, declared BR in November and changed suppliers in December.

That is how I did it as well, also changed my home insurance and car insurance since being declared BR :)

  • Try Southern electric and Southern electric gas.

They have been very good to me recently even letting me spread a bigger than expected bill despite being BR.

Ok, I've been back onto the comparison site and chosen a larger company (still much cheaper than my current company & better customer service statistics too!) and hey presto it seems as if it has been successful. Thanks guys, after I had the e-mail from the other company saying I had failed their credit check I thought it was common procedure for all... just goes to show how valuble your advice can be!! Aparently you've just saved me £400 per year!!
