It is quite common to pay hypo even if you are working in a zero taxx cost location. I would guess you are getting free housing and other expat benefits. Since you seem to have paid zero real UK tax (just pretend hypo) I don't get what your question is, or are you planning on theft from your employer if any real tax was paid by them in the first place?

jim484 - you should talk this through with your HR manager (or expat team). Your employer is almost certainly trying to make you "tax neutral" so that you are no worse off by being abroad. The hypo tax is not tax at all - it's a deduction made by your employer. Talk it through with HR and understand what the hypo tax is for.
