Hi
As some of you may be aware ,I received a letter offerinf me loan with most of my details filled in.
I have a unique email address for each bank I deal with so I can filtere things accordingly. The email used for this bank was *******cahoot@********.co.uk
As thi semail addy appeare don the applictaion form and the loan company wasnt part of the Abbey , I sent a letter of complaint to Cahoot.
They denied selling on my onformation without permission. I then asked for evidence they had permission to pass on details
They today sent me a letter saying they have credited (My now defunct) current account with £25. A gesture of goodwill you understand
Not a fortune , but the significance is , that I am now within the overdraft limit of this account.
SO pleased that I won an argument with them.

Well done you :T
Its a small amount of money but being back inside the overdraft is a great thing... and winning the argument of course :j :T
That's a really good idea about the email addresses... I have a domain name with email accounts included so it wouldn't be hard to do. Thanks for the idea... might try that in future!Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now... Good for you. Makes me wonder though if you could take this further? Not saying you want to but just out of interest?"Debt makes plans for you" - A quote from my friend Catherine. How true!0 -
You probably could take it further, after all they are break the Data Protection laws, but they may argue that your acceptance of the £25 was a settlement or something...Debt @ 22/11/07 = £11,038.74
Debt Free Since = June 2015
I'm having a FREE Christmas 2016 - Cash/Vouchers earned (so far) = £57
Freebies earned = 20 -

You should definitely press them for more. If they have broken the DPL's, they'll get fined a small fortune - it's only fair that you should get your share of that
