Survived Face to Face Interview today !!

Well my interview was at 2pm, and i was dreading it. The letter said to expect it to take between 2-3 hours.

I was totally prepared, I managed to find all my bank statements from 2007 to date and also credit card bills etc, I really surprised myself as to how organised I really was !!

I typed out a time frame for why things went tits up, as suggested from posts on here, and so I could refer to that.

I got there early, half an hour, and thought that I would sit it out, but he called me in straight away.

He was only a young chap, and he asked me how I was and if I was ok, I did not think I could cope so replied " I am sure you are a very nice man, but I do not like meeting you and I am so nervous about seeing you, I dont think I am ok at all".

He laughed, luckily !!

He said that he wanted to go through my papers from the court, and when he raised a new topic, I pulled out my file relating to that debt and passed them over and quickly went through everything with him.

I babbled, he wrote !!

He said he was very grateful that I had been so organised and could provide everything and more that he needed.

He did not go through any of the expenditure or income with me at all, which I was very surprised at.

He asked me if I had any questions, so I said to him "Do you think I will get a BRU/BRO order because of this, as it was down to my business".

He laughed and said to me "No way, in fact you will probably be discharged within 9 months, maybe even sooner" :T:rotfl::T

Thats when it got to me and I started crying and babbling all my thanks to him. He said that I did not need to tell him anything else, just when I move give him my new address so he can send me the letter for ED..:T

My god, I cannot believe it all, I was so up for a grilling, had put myself in a state AGAIN , and I was in and out of his office within 45 minutes!!

I cannot believe that he said I could be discharged within 9 months, I know that is not a given, but by golly what a shock, I was thinking the worse again...

I also cannot believe he did not go through everything with a fine toothcomb, he must have only asked about 10 questions in total, but I babbled alot even though he was writing and I did apologise to him for it, but he laughed and said it was fine.

For all of those who helped me, a mega huge thank you for your support.

For all of those who have their OR interview coming up, you will stress, you will strain, but yup it is all true from other posts, they do not bite, they are kinda nice people, and you will get through it in one piece, and will wonder why you got so worked up !!

I thought he would want to know the ins and outs of everything, but he said as I had a paper trail for everything I had ever spent, he did not need to dig any further as it was all in black and white. I had even found pay slips from 2007 to Jan 2010, and he could see I did not live the high life on £368 per month that I paid myself from the business lol !!!

Can I breathe now ?? Is this really it ??? Can I now rebuild my life slowly???

Someone please pinch me......what a year so far I've had, but hey, now is the start of my year.... and my resolution is never ever to get into debt again and never ever buy a business again :rotfl:

And I honestly think I will be able to keep this resolution !!!:rotfl:

well done ashellis, it is important to make the point to people that run into trouble with their examiners that if you prepare well and are organized it makes your interview go alot smoother

    Thanks folks,

this morning I woke thinking, this is my new year and new start and I feel very very happy today.

My dd did not play up getting ready for school, and when I came home I put my DS on his play rug....

AND HE CRAWLED OFF IT !!!!

OMG, he is just 7 months old and has been up on his knees for a couple of days, but he is obviously taking after dd as she walked by 10 months !!

It is obviously a sign that now I can start afresh, and I feel so happy today and ds has just made my day, I am grinning like a cheshire cat.

I am still a little bit in shock as to how my life has changed this year so far, but I honestly think that today was a sign and was telling me that life is moving on and I have to go with the flow.

Thanks again for the advice you guys gave me, I felt so much better for it
    xx

Congratulations & really pleased to hear the OR was so nice. They do seem to appreciate it when all the paperwork is organised so they can easily complete their job.
Did smile at your comment about never going near another business again, my hubbie got a job after he closed his company (sole reason for his BR) and has been there nearly a year. Asked him if there was anything he missed and he said not a thing, to him getting a wage and paid holiday is still a wonderful novelty and he skips off to work as happy as anything every morning.

Fingers crossed for the ED but at least now you can move on and put all the worry in the past
