Lighter patches on fabric after cleaning, any way I can sort it ?

I have some dining chairs with a fabric seat. There were some stains so I initially used very diluted washing up liquid in water to get the worst off, then, once dried, used a fabric stain remover. Well my stains are gone but some of the affected area's are a lighter shade. The fabric colour is cornflower blue so the lighter patches are quite noticeable. Is there anything I can do to retrieve the situation or have I 'damaged' the patchy area's and am stuck with them now ?

Yikes:(, it could be one of two things- either the stain remover hasnt been washed out properly and has left a residue or the stain remover wasnt suitable for the fabric and has pulled some of the colour out. I hope it's the first one for you in which case a rinse/ dabbing with a slightly wet cloth, rinsing the cloth and then dabbing again (may take a few times) should work. If it is the second then can the fabric be removed? It may be the only option to take the fabric off and do a washing machine dye jobby, colour will change as you're unlikely to find the same colour dye and even if you do there would still be variations. On the upside, the dye wont cost too much.
Sorry I can't be more helpful without seeing it![STRIKE]Saving for a deposit on a flat[/STRIKE]

Thanks for the kind words. I'll look again tomorrow morning (in the daylight) hope it's a residue and rinse/dab away and away and ...... All I can do is keep my fingers crossed.0 -
