                    hi all,
i am due for discharge on 25 march but have a 3 year BRU, i have just received a letter from the OR saying "bankruptcy file will shortly be transferred to the regional trustee and liquidator unit (RTLU) for this office." I had no assets and was not paying anything to the OR, will i still be discharged on 25 march if so can the RTLU claim anything i aquire after i am discharged.
Thanks in advance for any replies:beer:

            Hi there , ,
As far as I know you will still be discharged on 25th March but you will still have to declare any inheritance/extra money etc to the OR/RTLU until your BRU is expired. I am sure someone on here will be along to clarify this soonDischarged May 20100

if there is any doubt about your discharge I feel sureyou would have heard by now It is unusual to let things go this far if there is going to be any kind of restriction or extension. you could always ring and ask0

the bankruptcy ends at discharge date, any lump sums received after this are yours to keep. The BRU only extends the restrictions it is not about assets. The RTLU is there to deal with existing assets, do you have a property or an IPAHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

Hi debtinfo, thanks for that. I always thought that if you were under a bru it was the same sort of principle and held the same restrictions as an ipa and that earning extra money etc would have to be declared. I learn something new everyday Discharged May 20100 Discharged May 20100
