Boots vouchers - am I missing something obvious???

Hi all

Just a quick question; The Boots 5 pound off No. 7 vouchers you get in store.

Well seen a load on ebay for pennies, but this confuses me.
If there is no minimum spend why arent people just buying their consumables that are under 5 pound or buying things to sell on ebay. The vouchers are going for pennies!

I have 3 (2 deserved, 1 given) and was going to raid the No.7 make up things for Christmas gifts/ Stocking fillers. Can I just go to the counter and ask to pay for 3 items individually using 3 vouchers?

I am confused, can't see the catch and their usually is one

Usually things in the No7 range cost more than £5 (unless you are very lucky and find something on sale!) I tend to use mine for eye gel which is just over £8 and with my over 60's discount it is a very good buy.
Yes you can use them for 3 separate things, but you might have to go to 3 different tills to do it, and treat each as a separate transaction.

I've no idea why people would sell them rather than use them on the free items, but not everyone is into bootsing and may therefore assume that using them will cost them money.

The previous OP is correct in that not many things in the No7 range are under £5. You will find some accessories that are (nail file, sponges etc), but the make up and skin care items will be more than £5 so will cost you money in addition to the voucher.

If you have multiple vouchers to use up then you can of course go to one till and asked for them all to be put through as separate transactions. The SA's will be well used to this and won't bat an eyelid.

I don't use them as I can't use most of the products they apply to because of allergy issues - and as I don't use it myself, I wouldn't know where to start with regard to buying stuff as presents with the vouchers.

Now if they did one that covered their organic stuff, I'd be finding every glitch I could :D

I'd have assumed people sell them as there is more chance to get money from them. If they "buy" something with them, they risk getting fewer watchers or bidders then those who are selling. Not everyone may want a lipstick, but the option to get a lipstick or an eyebrown pencil or money off a moisturiser may appeal more. Plus theres less leg work involved for the seller.

Note that prices you see for those things online are often more than in-store on the low-priced no7 accessories. Most of those items will cost you about a pound after using the voucher in-store, and I don't think that lip tint is available in-store in most places anymore. There is (or was) a voucher code you could use online for no7 items and it didn't work on the lip tint, but it did on most other items and you could have them delivered free to store.

I usually buy the No7 Quick Thinking Wipes, which cost 1.50 after the voucher (these are really good!). Also good is nail polish (1.25 after voucher) and makeup brushes (think these start at 75p after the voucher). No problem doing this at the same till and asking for separate transactions. Check the grabbit thread about the no7 voucher for more ideas/tips. :)

I think the no7 topcoat and base coat on the website might be a misprice as it was £10.00 instore, and £12.50 if you buy them seperately!

My local boots have teeny tiny makeup mirrors in the No7 range, they are like the bigger stand up circle vanity ones just much smaller for £3.00, do you think these will work with the voucher, has anyone tried?

I've spent mine on renewing all my makeup brushes- well some of them anyway! Using the voucher I end up paying between £1 and £2 a brush which I think is excellent as they are fab quality.
