Hi
I'm just about to go on holiday with the family and wondered how much spending money people usually spend. We are going to a holiday camp in Wales, it has free swimming pools etc. We have 3 kids by the way. I was think about spending £50 a day, does anyone think thats no enough or ok. My Husband would spend loads if i let him but i've got to keep a tight hold of his wallet!!!

What part of Wales is it? The South & south west coastline has some lovely beaches & scenery etc. It would appear that you're arriving to some lovely weather so make the most of the free pools, beaches etc. It can get expensive if you've not got the weather & have to amuse 3 children. How much, I couldn't really say. I suppose it can depend on the age range of the children.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Depends on how old the kids are and if you are eating out every night. £50 is ok but you will be able to do it for less than that.0

Our kids are 3, 5 and 9, we will probably eat in the carvan most night, might treat ourselves a couple of times and eat out. I know the holiday camp has free kids activities etc. I just want to give the kids a great holiday and not to be to mean with the money0

Is this DFW behaviour? Years ago, when my daughter was around 4 or 5, every now & then we'd give her a pound to put in a change machine. She was made up with all these 2p coins she kept "winning"! That was in Tenby, south west Wales.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!)

I maanged an average of £7.40 per day (not including food and petrol) last time I went on a caravan holiday. We got lots of 2 for 1 vouchers from the internet and from local tourist brochures/ leaflets. Only have myself and one child though.0

If you take a lot of your food with you so that you are not buying overpriced food locally, when you go out take drinks with you, and packed lunches. Only go to free things (lots of these around, and sounds like there are good facilities on the site which don't cost) I would say that you should be able to do it for £10 per day (not including fuel and food). When you go out - go for an early bird meal or 2 for 1 etc - play the system. Where abouts in wales are you going?0

You should have a loverly holiday in Wales.Watch out for drink prices at the holiday camp club bar. They can be steep.Buy a couple of cokes and stick a half bottle of vodka in your handbag---lol.If eating in buy your food from a normal supermarket.I would have thought £50 a day to be more than adequate.0
