Second Mortgage?

Is it possible to get a second mortgage? First one we have is a residential mortgage for a house my mother in law lives in - so she doesnt actually pay us rent as such she just pays the mortgage payments each month.

But me and my partner want to buy a house of our own as we are currently renting so is a second mortgage possible and with who?

Does it have to be the same mortgage provider as the first mortgage?

and does anyone know what deposit would be required on a second mortgage?

Thanks.

Many factors are involved here finance, tax etc...it is not something where you can get a satisfactory yes, no answer on a forum.....you're better seeing a whole of market mortgage adviser to explore options etc....
