Tailored shirts and suits?

Hi All,
I'm getting married soon and wanted some nice shirts and suits. I want a normal lounge suit, but thought it would be nice to get a tailored one.
Does anyone have any experience of buying these off the internet, or where to go on the high street (London)?
Or whether non-tailored high quality stuff might be better?
I'm not looking to spend a lot, I just want something special.
Thanks

Eton Store (New & Lingwood and Joseph Gane)
118 High Street, Eton, Windsor
Berkshire, SL4 6AN, I came across this on the internet and thought it would be nice if I shared this with you.0 -
Thanks.
Have you used them.
There are lots of companies on the web, so ideally I'm looking for someone to recommend to or not to use any specific company.
Thanks again0 -
Whilst not knowing what your price range is, for proper tailoring in London, you want Jermyn Street - Thomas Pink, TM Lewin and Charles Tyrwhitt are some that spring to mind, although there are many others. All three do an off the peg/online range alongside their bespoke services, so hopefully one will fit your budget.

The price range is slightly negotiable, but what I really want to know is where to go and who's the best value for money.
I have seen shirts for £30 - £200 and suits for £200 - £2000.
My measurements are pretty standard, so the real question is whether it's better paying for tailored stuff for a slight premium and if so, where to go. I'm looking at spending ~ £50 per shirt and ~ £300/400 on a suit, but only if it's far superior to a decent quality off the peg suit which can easily be half that.0 -

tailored will give you the opportunity to have better quality material, styles and colours not readily available and more importantly they will fit properly, if your not an odd shape then its probably less beneficially for you tbh0 -
But what are the differences between the numerous online sites that offer tailor made clothes and the off-the-peg stuff?
They all say they're using the best cloth and tailoring methods etc...
Anyone got any experience of using one over another and if so, which?0 -

in my mind i see tailored as a process where they measure you accurately try the item on you with light stitching, adjust it so it fits perfectly and then make it
off the peg is just that, stuff that's made in different sizes for the avg person at those sizes, and of course in reality most people dont fit the centre of an avg curve
I suspect any website that says tailored but does not measure you or adjust the cloths on you as there made probably means there stuffs made in traditional methods rather than mass produced by machine, however they could still fit badly.
I seam to remember in some dark place in my memory that some places use the word tailored as a certain style of clothing, possibly with the waist area more defined, could be wrong0
