Long story short, entered a DMP on 1st Feb, 2 accounts with Crap One, mine (which had much the higher balance) and OH's. They accepted mine with no trouble, stopped interest and charges, fabulous. Constant problems with OH's, accused him in not very good English of fraud because he hadn't signed the initial letter to tell them about the DMP (neither did I), a round robin of half understood calls, eventually I spoke to CCCS and they kindly agreed to resend all of the DMP stuff for his account, to-day received yet another letter saying they can't deal with CCCS because he hasn't given them permission IN WRITING with a SIGNATURE. This is just stupid, do you think they don't have an original signature and are trying to get one or are they just being completely obstructive or do they just not understand a word we are saying?

sorry for the rant, is there a letter anywhere which would cover all or some of the points above, they are continually adding interest and charges so we are going backwards on this one.

When did you open these accounts?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • well before 2007, probably the late ninties. I did wonder if they had a signed agreement but they keep saying (I think) that the printed signature does not match the one they have on record, OH's signature is a bit of a scrawl and truly is nothing remotely matching his printed signature. This is just so stupid of them, we're trying to pay the money here and they are just throwing up all sorts ofd rubbish for no good reason!

    thanks for reading

They dont need a signature for a CCA request so they couldnt use that arguement, Cap one dont seem very good at producing enforceable agreements pre 2006. Well worth a go, they may well of shot themself in the foot here.
