Ok, just filling in the BR form for DH to send back to the British Legion whom are helping DH with the BR, so may need help with bits a little later on,
Have just been onto the company we have been paying a DMP to since Jan 2009 to cancel it, they have told me DH must go to his local town hall, as his BR may be declined if he hasn't been in touch with a Insolvency practioner, and they also ran through an over the phone budget planner, and we had a surplus of £175.00 a month, so was told the BR will be declined because we can still pay towards our debts, also the fact my DH can't go BR on his own, as being a married couple, living together, and having 1 joint debt they won't accept DH just going BR.....are they trying to scare me or what!!!

as his BR may be declined if he hasn't been in touch with a Insolvency practioner, What for????? Insolvency Practitioners don't work at the town hall.
and they also ran through an over the phone budget planner, and we had a surplus of £175.00 a month, so was told the BR will be declined because we can still pay towards our debts, Completely untrue, if you have any surplus after your BR SoA thre worst that will happen is an IPA
also the fact my DH can't go BR on his own, as being a married couple, living together, and having 1 joint debt they won't accept DH just going BR Again, total crap, BR's are individual, not joint. All that will happen is the 1 joint debt will pass to you
.....are they trying to scare me or what!!! Do these people get a fee from your DMP? I can see no other possible reason for feeding you such a load of tripe.
OMG, that's the biggest load of bu11shit I've ever heard.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Thank you so much Peachy
Yes they get a £35 fee per month  I'd never heard any of this myself either, explained I've taken alot of advice etc off here
and they thought they still new best!!
The guy even said to me 'they may consider your DH BR because of the time scale when paying into a DMP, but again, because you can still pay something towards your debts, its unlikely!
Forgot to add, also told that DH will be paying into the BR for 12 mths+ anything up to 13 years!! I can't believe they can get away with telling people a load of bull, would there be anyone I can contact to complain about the said company, I suppose its my word against there's, but I wonder how many people out there, have believed what they've told them.0
