Mystery Shoppers in NI???

Options
Was reading a thread on the main board re. mystery shoppers and was just wondering if there are any companies that use mystery shoppers here in the North. Does anyone know, and, if so, who are they?

Might be worth doing??

Cheers.

Don't know if you mean whether there are NI based companies who do this, or whether any of the companies listed in the other thread carry out assignments in NI?

If the latter, then yes, there are quite a few who have assignments in NI. Almost all of the major brand names will have a mystery shopping company carry out assignments for them, and signing up with just one company could mean carrying out work for a number of different stores and sites.
I've done quite a bit of mystery shopping in NI over the past few years, and the visits have included financial institutions, high street stores, bars/restaurants, and an airline. Some can be more lucrative than others though, although you will be self employed (in most cases), and so can pick and choose the jobs you want to do.
As for NI based companies, there may be one or two small ones, but I'm not aware of them (haven't looked tbh).

Some of the ones I did ages ago ( I don't do it any more) are on a first come first served basis. It depends how many other people are interested in the work.

    One company is http://www.ukims.co.uk/

I don't know if they are still recruiting but it could be worth an email to see.

I found all my work by googling mystery shopping in the UK and emailling to ask if there was any work available for Northern Ireland.

I noticed an ad for Grassroots (grgresearch.com) in last friday's Jobfinder in the Tele, was also in the job ads in our free local paper, so I'm assuming they cover NI?? also could try gumtree or yell.com?? Think I'll go register, the company I was working for to earn a bit extra has gone bust, so I'm a bit f***ed now!!:wall:

Worth registering with all the companies you can find on google.
You may not hear from any of them for months, as they simply hold all details on a database, and pick a name when they need a new shopper in that area. As for whether or not they operate in NI, might not matter, as about half of the work I'm offered is online or phone based.
As A_B said, googling and contacting all the companies is the quickest way to get work. Some will reply, some won't, but you'll find that there will be some work if you apply to enough companies, and may actually have to turn some down.
Also be aware that most will require financial details (Bank account # etc) to pay you, and a national insurance number as they will tax you in some cases, although others will treat you as self employed and leave it up to you to inform the relevant authorities that you are working.;)

Cybershop NOP (Google it for site address!) were especially looking people in the Enniskillen & Newry areas, & also from all over NI..don't know if that's any use to any of yous...DFW & MFW boards have loads of links for Mystery shopping, this is one of the ones that seems to be mentioned a bit...
