Everything Reminds me of Debt

One thing that annoys me now is my OH and me are unable to watch anything on TV together that has adverts in it, because invariably an advert comes up which sparks off a debt discussion which ends in an arguement and we miss what we originally watched.

If it isnt an advert for debt free loans, credit cards, mortgages, cheaper car insurance, cheaper gas/electric - it drives me so effing crazy.

There, its off my chest...

I know what you mean, but how very different to ads of a few years ago.I remember during the early 90`s,the adsin the backs of newspapers like Oc--n Finance suddenly dissapeared. The grim days of that period seem to have been forgotten by so many.I had a new business then plus a mortgage of nearly £800 per month.Really hope we don`t see those days again.

I know exactly how you feel - with my ex, I would start to talk over certain adverts (loan ones - the ones that always started something like - in over your head). I was at my ex's place the other day to pick up the dog (we have a strange, but workable custody arrangement with him!)and a loan advert came on and I felt myself 'tighten' with him sitting there.
