Sony x series walkman

Options
I'd love to buy a NWZX 1060 32GB walkman and saw one on John Lewis' website this morning for £199.95. Rang to reserve and although there were 16 on the system there were none in stock. Apparently they'll most likely be in transit.
So I started browsing for alternative suppliers tonight and EVERYWHERE seems to be out of stock. Even places that I'm sure had some earlier today.
This seems a bit weird. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I'm a bit worried they're going to hike the price everywhere shortly because the only place they appear to have them is M&S for £289

I do know that they had problems with the touch screen on some- I read through reviews that it wasn't up to scratch and was slow. I don't know if this was a technical issue or just how they were made though. Could be they had to send back bad stock or could be they weren't selling well or could be they just sold many at the same time but as far as I know, Sony don't have a new MP3 player comming out, the x-series is the latest so I'd have thought they'd get new ones in soon. Maybe call them up and try to get dates?

Just discovered by googling "sony x series discontinued" that sadly it is. Apparently Sony are pulling out of the high-end MP3 player market as they can't compete with the ipod.
Looks like my search is over :(
