    Hi in scotland a couple of differences.

    Statute barred in 5years (if not decree)

    Decrees are roughly the same as a CCJ.

    So if there is a decree then the debt is likely still payable. If not then its likely statute barred.

    I was in England 2001, back in Scotland end 2001, think there may have been a ccj, no totally sure., so hoping it is tatute barred.

    If you state it is statute barred, it is upto them to prove that it is not. They would need to present the decree/ccj and show it is still enforceable.
    Obviously if they can and you think its wrong it is then upto you to challenge it, even if that means taking it back to court.
    Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
