Replaceable blades for shaver

I'm have to decide whether to replace the blades in my 2yr old electric shaver (about £35 including postage) or just buy a new one. It always seems a waste to throw them away just because the blades need replacing, but they are more than half the price that I bought the entire unit. Surely this pricing is a scam, encouraging our throwaway society?

I was wondering if anyone knew of shavers with cheap replacement blades, or if the blade sharpeners really work.
