Post Office Christmas Club -with 'debit card'

I have just been to the Post Office and seen they do a xmas club - where you pay money into the post office using a kind of debit card they give you.
On the 1st November, you then get to spend all the money on there for xmas pressies, by using the card as a debit card in certain shops.

Just wondered if this is a) subject to a credit check and will us 'BR's pass it and b) will the OR be OK me saving any extra money I *may* have this way???

Is this what people refer to as a 'pre-paid debit card'?

No this is just like a savings card for Christmas, you are only allowed to spend the money on it between certain dates.

I just went and had a look at that, it looks good, I may get one, and put a bit on, as my eldest son's birthday is the week before christmas and the youngest 2 weeks after this could be a good way to save a bit!!

    Thanks Valetta!
