How long does an unsatisfield CCJ stay on your records

Hello, can anyone tell me how long a CCJ will stay on my records.
I currently pay £40 per month against a CCJ which at that rate wont pay off the debt for many many years. I know it will be on my records for 6 years but as it will be unsatisfield will it remain for as long as the debt is being repaid
Thanks

    Hi.
It stays on file for 6 years from the date of judgement and then disappears whether paid in full or not. Sadly, even if you pay it off in full after a year (for example), it still remains on file but as a"satisfied" judgement. I say "sadly", because in most lenders' scoring systems, a satisfied judgement counts against you as much as one you've not paid. Unfair maybe but that's the way it is. Same with a default notice. It's often a moot point whether it's worth paying anything off a judgement...if there's little chance of enforcement sometimes it isn't worth it because you don't get any gold stars for it.
