Poor Credit - Mortgage Advice

Hi
I am looking to apply for a mortgage with my partner (who has good credit) on a 135k house. Based on affordability we could borrow upto 160-170k. We have 20% deposit and my credit report has been totally clean for 12 months (score of 999 on experian), however, prior to the last 12 months i had missed some payments on 3 credit cards (a total of 15 over 36 months over all the cards). These cards (bar one) have all been settled, and i have used the other one to repair my rating by paying the full amount owed off each month.
What are our chances of being accepted for a mortgage? Is it even worth applying at this stage?
I have had positive feedback from a couple of mortgage brokers, but im abit unsure as they may just be hoping for the best so they get some commission??
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Vigilant.. to be quite honest, and i probably speak for a lot of people on here in saying this but why don't you keep your mouth shut if you have nothing constructive to say! Almost every post you make is the same.. Hi-Jacking posts with your silly remarks.
I am on this forum because I want to learn... You on the other hand trawl this forum hiding behind your pc waiting to jump on people!
Thought about getting a social life? Perhaps join a club? It would be good for you...0 -

Indeed I did have something constructive to say...how can you base obtaining a mortgage on someone else's credit file!

You can't base your plans on someone elses mortgage enquiry - if you want advice, speak to an advisor.
And speaking of having nothing constructive to say - you don't. He did.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
So what exactly does that mean Vigilant? Patronising again I see.. And Wutang why can't I base my plans on someone elses experiences? I simply asked if the OP could give us an update, and if they have any advice (things they have learnt along the way) perhaps I shouldn't of asked? On the face of it our history seems similar, I asked some questions. Deal with it!
In my opinion I did have something constructive to say, I asked for some more information to be shared with the forum. Information which may be helpful to myself and countless others, Information which may be a little bit different than the majority of Vigilant's posts where they shoot down everyone who has a bit of history.0 -
Mortgage Searcher.....
I will indeed keep you posted! Also good to know other people are in our shoes!
We're just pulling together the final deposit etc now.
Ive had further discussions with underwriters of some mortgage providers and i am told that if ur clean for 12 months, and only 1 or 2's on ur credit file previous to those twelve months then that should be ok. Although everyone is different......
(when i say 1's or 2's, i mean to the amount of time a payment has been delayed for 1's (one month) 2's (two months) and so on. Anything 3+ reduces ur chances significantly). fortunately i have mostly 1's, and two 2's...no 3+'s.
Good luck!0
