Have you spoken to one of the debt charities that martin recommends? ie CCCS or your local CAB or National Debtline or Christians Against Poverty? You may not need to go bankrupt - or you may need to - without further info it's difficult to say but it might not be your only option.
With regards to student loans I'm not sure on that one - hopefully someone with more experience will be able to help on that one.

Student incomes are not counted as income I believe in bankruptcy. Neither does the fact you are BR stop you getting one. Take some proper advice re your debts from one of the charities though.0

the student loan will not affect the bankruptcy at all so it doesn't matter if it is before or afterHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0
