Hi all,
Has anybody else’s initial complaint letter been ignored? I was sold a Legal & General endowment mortgage in March 1996, the target amount was £29900. I received a letter from L&G in the last year telling me there is a significant risk of a shortfall so I decided to use the ‘Which?’ websites letter generator to start my complaint. I posted it on the 7th July asking for a response within 14 days and have not heard anything, not even acknowledgement of receipt. I know for a fact that the company that sold me the endowment is still in business. Is it just a case of being patient or should I fire off another letter? How long should I wait?
Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!!

Verify that you are sending it to the correct adrreess. You can check on the fsa register that the company address matches the one you are using. If they are a network member, then you can bypass the adviser and send it direct to the network. If they are tied reps of L&G, you can send it direct to L&G.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Thanks very much Dunstonh,
Have just checked the FSA register and the company that sold me the policy isn't on it. Do you think I should just send a letter direct to L&G?

Might be the best way. L&G will forward it on to the firm that they have on file and write to you to confirm that they have done. At least you then have documentary proof that the complaint process was started on a certain date.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I waited about 6 weeks and after a lot of wrargling over many months. L & G refused to pay any compensation. I then went to Ombudsman who eventually found in favour of L & G. I had another policy with Standard Life sold by the Halifax who paid out £1800 after a few weeks by complaining through aclaim handler. So good luck and I hope you are successful in your claim.
Cheers
