Free £1 Cheltenham bets with The Sun

If you’re planning to place a bet on the Cheltenham Festival this week, there’s a way to grab three free £1 bets. The Sun (20p) is printing vouchers for free £1 bets in-store at Ladbrokes every day until Friday 19 March. (Do note that the paper is 25p or 30p in some areas).

WARNING! Gambling is only moneysaving with someone else's money.

We usually steer well clear of anything to do with gambling in the weekly e-mail, as gambling isn't MoneySaving. Yet Cheltenham is a big event, so some folks will be betting anyway.

If you're going to bet, the best way to do it is with someone else's money – and that's exactly what this tip shows you how to do.

• Step 1. Grab a copy of The Sun
  
  Pick up a 20p The Sun and turn to the Cheltenham favourites pull-out in the middle to find the free bet coupon.

• Step 2. Place your bets
  
  Fill in the voucher and take it to your nearest Ladbokes before 9.30 pm. You must use the bet the day it was in the paper, on that day's Cheltenham Festival races.
• Step 3. Collect any winnings
  
  If you are lucky enough to win, your winnings will not include the free £1 stake.

Note there's also a £5 bet at Ladbokes online available, but the aim there is to get your to set up an account, which then makes ongoing gambling even easier - so be careful.

Anything to watch out for?

You must be over 18. It’s one per customer, per day, ie, you can place one free bet on Wed, one on Thurs and one Fri.
