Well have got all my paperwork under the DPA last week, and wading through a lot of it I can see that my old rules case was closed in 08/03.
So I rang up asked for the other relevant documentation which appears to be missing (I cant have it because it pertains to someone else!) and asked them why my case had been closed.
After some consultation with another colleague, apparently because my case was on the main system as of March 2003, it didnt automatically migrate, it was closed and I would have had to re-open a new one  Had it been clerical then it wouldnt have migrated and I would still have been on the old rules.
So the fact that they didnt bother to tell me that the case had been closed is my issue not theirs.
I know by now that I really shouldnt be suprised at anything that comes out any more but you know I never cease to be amazed at some of the catastrophic issues they have. There are SO many errors in the file as to be unbelievable, and they have not bothered to qualify any of the claims he has made, so I think I could be in for the long haul here
So anyone else been told that one?
