The tories have basically based thier whole election strategy on a hate gordon brown rant!!

Well said by the Lib Dems leader Nick Clegg, However Gordon Brown has done nothing wrong while he has been in office in fact I think he has done a hell of a job!!

We all know if David Cameron was in office over the past 3 years we would definitely still be in recession.
very true but it's not David's fault that George Osbourne isn't or won't be able to deal with the countries economic issues.

Are you suggesting that the Tories may do this, I could see why they wouldn't wish to include it in their pre-election manifesto icon7.gif

Not at all. When I say I don't think the political will is there to do it I mean that none of the parties that are standing in enough seats to form the next Government will cut spending in any kind of a meaningful way.

Time will tell whether or not that is a serious problem. I have genuine fears that the UK Government hasn't just run out of income but possibly also is running out of credit.

Well the only way is to reduce spending very quickly and the only way to do that is to break contracts with employees and suppliers.

Labour have already done this clever clogs. Do you remember the ongoing strike over Labour's proposal to break the contract of civil servants to reduce their entitlement to redundancy pay? It's inevitable that whoever wins the election will have to continue to things like this to make savings in the public sector budget.

Are you paid by the Labour party to post all this rubbish? It's stupid to the point of denying reality.

unfortunately many people on here think that the Tories will be their Knights in Shining Armour - they won't be, neither will Labour or the Lib Dems........

A move to the Euro would be good for OUR economy long term aswell
    Please explain how?

Certainly the costs of converting to the Euro will cost many billions to industry [though it would be like Y2K all over again for contractors ]

Again, I didn't even mention the Tories in that post. I'm just correcting the perception that Brown is a miracle worker that healed the UK economy. I didn't express any opinion on what it would have been like if Cameron was in charge.

You really are an exceptionally stupid person. Do you work for the Labour party by any chance? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I don't think anyone thinks that at all re: knights in shining armour. That's just a flippant line in response to others challenging your thoughts.

I think people see the tories as more capable of sorting the mess, and at the moment, see them as less smoke and mirrors.

No I didn't mean you, I meant StevieJ, he obviously thinks that only the Tories would break the contracts of public sector employees.

that's a lot of people you're getting angry with and accusing that they work for the labour party

are you one of those paranoid types that thinks if someone doesn't agree with him they must be a paid up labour party member.
