Sorry did I miss the point that nobody is taking any notice of the future chancellor'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I can see why Graham thanked your post Chewbacca extreme
What does that mean? Is that what you say when someone else is right and you are wrong?the best thing that Big Dave can do is get Ken Clark in - he might get my vote then
Of course, everyone would prefer Clark to Osborne. I don't think Osborne is a good choice as Chancellor, I just can't believe some people still defend the Labour party.
But is the prospect of George Osborne as Chancellor really worse than Ed Balls with Gordon the Moron as backseat driver? :eek:0 -

The pensioners will be cheering, remember how he looked after the drinkers when he was last chancellor, now he is a pensioner.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. It says a lot that you have to ask surely?Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. Galbraith0 -
Well Osborne is so junior I would expect he will get a lot of advice from people like Clark, however those two are convinced that they 'saved the world' and can never be wrong.
Do you think Gordon Brown's economic policies have been a success to justify his self-belief?
What qualifications have Ed Balls and Gordon Brown got, apart from their unsuccessful stint in government? You seem to think they are much more qualified than Osborne. In retrospect, Ed Balls' economic advice to Gordon when they were in the Treasury was pretty bad - look where it's got us today.0 -

No-one agrees with George Osborne apparently, not even the captains of British industry according to StevieJ, despite the fact that the Confederation of British Industry, like Osborne, are calling for early action on the deficit.

Quite what the European Commission, home of profligate finances and dodgy accounts, was doing calling for more drastic action to cut Britain's budget deficit is not clear.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is.
