Am I employed???

This is something the OR didn't know.

I am a student nurse, but I put Unemployed on my BR form, judge passed it as I am, but the OR said she thought I was employed because I receive a NHS bursary during my course.

Last year when my husband was unemployed the DWP said that they didn't class me as employed (I pay no NI or tax on the bursary) but they did class it as an income and we couldn't get any help on the mortgage because of it. Tax credits people do not even acknowledge it as an income or that I am working because it is NI and tax exempt.

I am classed as a full time student and as such I consider myself unemployed.

OR said she would go away and check.

What is the general concensus on here????

Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.

  • You aren't classed as what the government would consider unemployed as you are not available for work, yet you are not employed either as you do not work and earn a wage/salary.

Your employment status is 'full time student', neither employed nor unemployed.

Ok - thats fine by me! but there wasn't a box to tick for that on the online form. She can't technically say that I got it wrong either lol.
