Endowment miss-selling prevarication

We were sold a Std Life policy in 1991 by an IFA. We used Endowmentaction to produce and send a complaint letter to the IFA. That was 1st May this year, we have since had an acknowledgement letter, and 2 subsequent letters (1 June & 1 July) saying they are still investigating & have not been able to complete the investigation. Is this just prevarication, & are they trying to string it out past a deadline? What should we do now?

They are quite within their rights to continue this for some more months.
Its quite possible that the selling adviser is no longer working for them and they could be waiting for a reply from them. They could have a network or compliance dept who are flooded with complaints and can't handle them any faster.
There is no deadline they can string out past as your complaint is registered upon receipt. You just sit back and wait.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
