Hi everyone.
I am new to the chat forum and have just started to act upon my debts. Hopefully i have not left it too late, i am determined to sort out my finances forever. I think i am a fairly clever person but myself and my wife are totally rubbish with money and after 11 years of financial oblivion we have run up debts in total about £25,000.. I just cant see where we have been going wrong but i have read the book the money diet and am visiting the site regular. Already we have cut back and will be saving around £650 per year. I run my own business, basically i am quite good at what i do and am popular with my customers, I do earn a good wage and am never short of work but i just dont no how to manage money. I want to really get involved in the personal and business financial side of things because i think that when i get to grips with it i could become wealthy or at least comfortable and be able to provide for my wife and children properly. And not get as many headaches. Does anybody no of any good college courses that i may be able to go to to educate me and not be finacially illiterate. I no the book and the site are brilliant and should be enough but i find that actually going in a classroom and studying the subjects will be very benificial. I live in the Stoke on Trent area and have tried the local college and business colleges but nobody seems to have the relevant course for that extra motivation. Your help will be gratly appreciated.
Best Regards

I think the answer is on your doorstep. It's Martin's Money Diet book , which has all you need to become savvy with money.

https://www.hotcourses.com is usually useful - it has a few online courses under finance that might be helpful. it has a really big selection of courses from all over the uk.:happyhear0

The OU course mentioned above can be found here. It is not classroom based but still looks pretty good (but does cost a lot of money)!

One of these open days may be good to?

Also you mentioned that you are not very good with money how about popping up a Statement of Affairs (SOA) so we can help you cut back? Information on posting a SOA can be found here:

There is a wealth of information to be found here so don't be afraid to ask anything!
Good luck
