Harris angling have got some good items on sale, much of it half price.
http://www.harrissportsmail.com/Offers.aspx
I have used them a number of times in the past and found them quite good.
Some nice Fox pike fishing rods half price, some greys spinning rods and some reels.
Also loads of cheap lures.
Anyone got any other favourite online fishing retailers?

What would you recommend for a small pressie for my OH? He goes fishing in a lake and then throws the fish back in!!!!! Not sure what sort of fishing that is, seems silly to me that he never brings any home to eat.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.0 -
Do you know what type of fish he tries to catch? I assume he is a coarse fisherman?
Roach
Tench
Carp
Pike
etc?
They need generally quite different stuff for each type of fishing.
Maybe the polaroid sunglasses miht be a good item for all fishing types0 -
try a little green net with a cane pole, sure he will love that!!:j looking after the housekeeper sir !!0

Many thanks for your replies. I have checked out the website of the lake he normally goes to and it seems to be mainly stocked with Carp but also has Roach, Bream and Tench.
I know that he has a little net already as it is stinking out our little courtyard at the moment.
He was talking about fly-fishing off the beach as apparently someone down the pub caught a Bass, he hasn't got the kit for that but I suppose that would be expensive?0 -
Be careful.
I have found that fishing rods don't work. I have tried many variations of rod, reel, bait etc.
Much better just going to the local fishmonger.0 -
can't see the point in fishing. Get up in middle of the night, sit around bored for several hours, nothing hapens except you get cold and p**s wet through, then you come home. You'd be better off doing something productive at home like weeding the gutters or shaving the cat.Just because you used to be you think everybody else is, don't you?0
