What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
Kind wishes
P
Welcome to the debt free wannabe board. A great place for seeking advice and inspiration and support on getting out of debt. Please read the above in case you come across one of the very few trolls or more frequent spammers that come our way.
Please join in and bump Fred to page one if he is found lost and wandering - Thank you:)A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Hi Sizzler - are you on the wrong board? You are very welcome on this board but you have used the quote and user names from your side. Still very nice to see you anyway.
Hope you are well.:j
Nicca - how is work going? eating into your MSE time?;) This thread has been zooming along the last few dats, we'll soon be on part 7 at this rate.:)
Paddington is eating cake (not anything else before anyone starts wondering). Woof is disappointed not to be baked a dog's birthday cake today, but has had plenty of treats instead.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Hugely eating into it!!!
And because every-one is currently concerned that I'm ok and not "tired out" by working, they keep popping up by my shoulder, offering cups of tea and bits of gossip. Whilst very nice, I'd rather it died down a bit so I can nip on and say hello without fear of a manger magically appearing by my side:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I need to learn tecchie skills that can change the MoneySavingExpert banner into a work-related one and then I'm laughing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Then there's the added commotion caused by the NHS trust having a major falling out with the city council, causing the future of joint working to be extremely shaky and a call for the Scottish exec to become involved... so there's lots of meetings, media interest, union stuff and general wild speculation flying around.
All very interesting but completely useless until a decision is made. But makes things a bit busier than normal. Boo hiss!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

can you not report spam unless you report the whole thread? seems a little silly to me shame they don't have a spam button on the user name that would be so much easier or is there and i haven't seen it lolalways smile no matter how broken you are.0 -
Just before handy turns in for the night, I just thought some of you might like to see a bit of the garden at Hooray Hall. Just so you know I am a real handyman.

Hi Carol, PPR is "posting privileges removed", ie, banned...
If I'm reporting a post rather than the whole thread, I put a note on the email with the poster name and post number - seems to work. There's probably an easier way to do it though, Tixy or Numpty will no doubt tell us tomorrow
Hi nicca, sorry you can't get on here as much now - work does tend to have that effect, unfortunately. And sorry about all the commotion there.. not good and tends to be very unsettling. Hope it all works out OK.
Tixy, hope Woof enjoyed her treats;)
And on that note, I'm going to disappear, busy day tomorrow so might not be around much, but will pop in when I can to keep Fred in check.
'night everyoneThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
