I've never actually had it BL, but in the local supermarket, they have a ready meal called "Cooks Pie and mash" and that apparently has the Liquor on it, always wondered what it was..

Yeah I've seen those, it's based on the same thing but they're Eeeuukk! My local pie & mash shop was called Cooke's but they shut down a few years back. You have to have the real thing, it's a London thing and I used to love getting my half crown (2s 6d - equiv to 12 1/2p in new money - which was a lot in the good ol' days:D) pocket money on a saturday and me and me mates would get the bus, go swimming, get the bus back to the pie & mash shop and still have sixpence change, it's not like having a pie like you buy in the supermarket, they're different, like suet pastry and you have this green liqour which is sort of like a parsley sauce but doesn't taste like parsley sauce, poured all over it and then you put salt & vinegar (sometimes chilli veingar if you like it hot ) all over it and it is GREAT!!! Sorry, I've gone on a bit there and for those of you who don't have a clue what I'm talking about - my apologies:o

Aaah the good ol' days... Its nice to have a trip down memory lane BL. Even better if you can actually do the good ol' things and not just dream about them!.
You'll be gettin' your swimmin' togs out next!.
For me though, suet is a (almost) definite No-No. If ever i'm down London way, i'll maybe try and give it a go.

Funny you should say that GB, I'm off swimming tomorrow with my grand-daughter! I might even take her to the pie & mash shop after!;) altho she'd prob prefer McD's
Back later.I must stop procrastinating, I must stop procrastinating! promise I'll stop tomorrow OK:D

Just finished fish and chips, had to pass on the battered troll as it produces too much gas at both ends like the ones Niddy dispatches in the wee small hours of the night. (trolls I mean, not gas! Sorry Nid!) I was at work for the first half of the week, then yesterday t'internet played silly boogers and I could not get a connection, so I have a few days of gossip and nonsense to catch up on. Hope everyone is set for a cracking weekend - not quite as tropical as last weekend but pleasant all the same. We have visitors arriving Sunday for a couple of days so I will be up to my eyes in slaughtering fatted calves etc.One life - your life - live it!0
