Am off to the garage as my car was playing up again this morning, hope it's nothing major and they don't charge me an arm and a leg just to put it on diagnostics machine:(

Hi everyone, m'names Allie (I'm sure you could have guessed that one!!)

I'm new here just joined today but i don't know if this is where I should be posting for my first post or not...I saw it was a thread for Newcomers so I thought I could be roughly in the right place!!

Just going to try and find my bearings a bit - it seems like its a massive forum out there so i'm not sure where to start!!

Welcome to the boards. I haven't been around here for very long either but everyone here is very friendly and helpful, maybe also a bit mad and they will make you very welcome. Just join in the chit chat or whatever you want to do and give the occasional BUMP if you see this thread (Fred) slipping off of page 1. It's very addictive.

Anyways I'm off out now, it's very quiet here today but enjoy yourself finding your way around.:)

BorassicLint, i'll make sure I bump Fred the thread up whenever I'm around - love the fact the threads got a name!
Tixy, i needed to ask you where to find this thread as I'd lost it (the thread that is!) and couldn't for the life of me remember where i'd found it the first time...but i got there eventually, think i might have been in somewhere other than Debt-Free Wannabe!
Thanks also SolventSoon, i will be taking advantage of the asking questions thing, feel it may take me a while to find my feet here!!

If you read a thread and want to be able to find it again you can add it to your subscribed threads. To do this choose Thread Tools on the second green bar at the top of the page and then choose subscribe to this thread. Then whenever you want to look at any of those you choose 'User CP' in the first green bar.

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
