I thought my ears were burning..sorry I haven't been around, I have been on other fora and been busy as a bee.

Have been trying to get Housing Benefit as I had to provide loads of evidence etc as to why I should be allowed to continue with it, one of the things that the twits at the council always grumble about are receipts so I put some smart casual clothes on (I had to be in the dentist at 9am), did the dentist and then decided to visit the Neighborhood Office. Remind me to never set foot in that place again..I had to get a ticket and immediately felt like a lump of meat on the meat counter in Sainsbury's, I got a withering look for daring to turn up without an appointment and not knowing the system. Well A64 was called (that was me) and I went to the counter and produced 12 months' worth of receipts and was then told that I had to return at 3.40pm when I would be seen (drat, I had paid for 2hrs parking:mad:).

I did a bit of shopping and mooched about then came home and did a bit of work before going back to the office clutching my huge bag of receipts - I was eventually seen by a lady who was wondering why I was there because according to the system my Housing Benefit claim had been allowed..why on earth didnt they tell me that instead of sending me lots of snidey letters?:mad: For some unknown reason (nincompoops) thought I only had 5 receipts and not 12 months' worth and thus it was deemed that I had too many to photocopy and must submit them to my accountant - a note has been made on my file that I have taken them in for inspection...sigh..I hope this year to start earning to draw a wage so I don't have to rely on the nincompoops at the council.

Hi 3 dogs, I seem to recall mentioning shadow the feral cat who had a litter of kittens in the owl box in the barn. And how I have managed to tame her allthough its taken 2 years. In fact as I write this she is asleep on the sofa. I think I also mentioned that she got her name by allways being no more than 5 feet away from me while working in the garden.

I allways give the dogs a run on the bottom lawn at lunchtime.
My two terriers should realy be called rough and tumble, they can playfight for hours. when bonnie has had enough of the little one she rolls her over and sits on her head (I think she Farts:eek:).

Very rarely does it get out of hand.
Today while they were playing shadow was beside me. The young dog let out a yelp, next thing shadow chareged bonnie, knocked her clear over, and then went back in like a tazmainian devil teeth and claws flying. Now bonnie who used to terrorise the nieghbours cat ran for her life.

If I lose the young terrier the cat brings her home. they dont cosy up to one another, but on occasion I have found them together stalking mice in the long grass. I think shadow thought she was protecting her little mate.

Now I'm not shure, do I have a cat that thinks she's a Dog, or a Dog the thinks she's a cat. Its a strange place is the west country.
I allways tell people "I don't do Normal" it looks like my pets do the same.

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
