TV Recorder, Freeview, Digitial, Confused!

Ok so my standard set top box died about 6 months ago and I have been watching my 5 bog standard channels and think it's about time I get myself a new one!
I would also like to be able to record TV and pause TV and have the 30-40 odd channels you can get when you buy one of those cheap set top boxes in Sainsburys.
Anyway, I have tried to shop around and am just getting more and more confused by the whole thing.
We don't have Sky TV or a satelite dish. I'm pretty sure Northern Ireland isn't receiving digital tv freeview+ etc until 2012? I could be wrong. So what sort of product would suit my needs - does it even exist? I don't want to be spending more than £200 but want something reliable - my last £10 job from the supermarket didn't last too long! (as expected). What are my options! Help!

N Ireland HAS been receiving freeview for many years, 2012 is when your bog standard crappy aerial set of channels are switched off and you must buy freeview/sky etc
You have many options, Tesco are doing a Grundig freeview box/recorder for £60 only snag is you need to provide your own 4GB USB Pen drives for it to record on to, it will however record 2 things at once should you wish. Check out hotukdeals also as it has a deal going on one with a built in 500gb of storage
or you could just buy a freeview set top box and indoor aerial for about £20 depends where you live

You should check the coverage where you live at this site - http://www.freeview.co.uk/availability
Assuming you had Freeview before then you should be ok for a new box. If you want to pause and rewind live TV then you need a freeview box with hard disk recorder, a good bit more expensive than a basic box. Pop into a good electrical retailers for advice.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0
