    Hi,

The debt has been carried for years from when I was a low earner.
I've always made the payments, usually minimum and was purchasing on it too.

So it's not increasing, but not really decreased either. Now I have a very good job and am able to start hammering the debts away, just looking at the most efficient way to do this.

    Net income is £2700-3500pm
Outgoings £2200 inc £350 on CC payment.

How much are outgoings after mortgage payments, cc payment, council tax? Have you taken a good look at your outgoings and see exactly how much you are wasting? Unless you have a large mortgage your outgoings seem to be very high.

If you have started to hammer away at the debts, that will see a snowball effect from the reduced interest. I wouldn't secure the debts, personally.

My outgoings are high as I rent a place as well as having my mortgage, because I work away from home.

I account from every £1 I spend in a balance sheet I compile every month, wastage is minimal.

Dimbo, maybe my posts weren't clear.
I can easily pay my CC every month.
I earn far more than I spend.

This has gone well off topic. I was initially asking about differing lending criteria on cc and mortgages.
