I think you will need to go into the branch to ask for the account closure.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Either inbranch as DC says or write a letter to close the account. If you have an overdraft with them you won't be able to close it until you have put the account to zero, if you have money in the bank either draw it out first or request a cheque in your letter.
You might also want to any recurring debit card payments you have set up and any DDs just so you know that you won't have problems at a later date.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I got a phone call from a nice Indian lady on Saturday afternoon.
She asked me what I had been spending my money on as I was over my overdraft limit. I asked her if she could see my account details and she said she had them in front of her.
I then said that if she looked at my account they had charged me £329 for bouncing a dd and two standing orders in February. This £329 had put me over my limit (I was still within it as the DD and SO's were not paid).
My wages will not be going into Lloyds this month I have opened a basic account with the co op. Just need to sort out with Lloyds how much they will accept a month for me to pay off my OD. As more than half is made up of charges I hope they are amenable to any suggested amount I come up with.0
